Tourmaline on Quartz with Lepidolite

Beautifully juxtaposed against a prominent smoky quartz with glassy faces, the tourmalines demonstrates beautiful coloration along with fantastic luster. This combination specimen comes from Afghanistan and is a great representation of the pegmatite minerals we see out of the region. With the assemblage of lepidolite with quartz and tourmaline, a nice range of color is achieved on this well-balanced specimen. Though the lepidolites are of a lighter pink-purple color, they still bring a nice touch of color that highlights the green tourmaline.
