The garnets display a striking dark red-orange which appears nearly black until the crystals are illuminated. Adding to its uniqueness, patches of clear, almost bubbly-looking hyalite opal coat some of the garnets, creating an eye-catching contrast. The opal fluoresces a distinctive green color under UV light.
