Prehnite with Native Copper
Prehnite with Native Copper
Keweenaw County, Michigan, USA
35 x 24 x 14 mm
A rare and exceptional association of prehnite and native copper from Michigan's renowned Keweenaw Peninsula. Botryoidal prehnite with a soft mint-green hue sits attractively atop amygdaloidal basalt, creating a striking contrast. Within the translucent prehnite, native copper inclusions are visible, with tiny oxidized black copper specks emerging just above the surface. Though partially concealed by the green prehnite, the copper's distinctive color remains unmistakable. A rare combination of minerals, with few specimens available on the market. Miniature sized specimen.
