Maybee Quarry in Monroe County, Michigan, has produced some of the finest native sulfur specimens in North America. This crystal is an old find from the locality, showing attractive stepped growth, a resinous luster, and vibrant, deeply saturated yellow color. Though the rich color keeps it mostly opaque, the crystal is translucent enough to glow a bit when backlit. A great thumbnail from what is arguably Michigan's most historic sulfur locality!
