This richly colored specimen features lustrous, gemmy crystals of kammererite, the chromium-bearing variety of clinochlore. The crystals show a saturated raspberry-magenta color and form a glittering crust across the matrix, catching light from every angle. This is an older find from the Pembe Gül Mine, a small operation in Turkey that has reportedly been inactive since 1978, making material from this locality increasingly difficult to obtain. Chromian clinochlore occurs in crystallized form at only a handful of localities worldwide, and eastern Anatolia remains the best-known and most productive source of high-quality crystals.
