This beautiful Herkimer Diamond measures 21 millimeters from point to point and has glassy flat faces, great clarity, and double terminations. It was mined from the now-closed Ace of Diamonds Mine, one of the most well known localities for the quartz variety; Herkimer Diamonds. Along the surface of the crystal indentations show where it grew in contact with the host rock, the Little Falls Dolostone. A lovely raw specimen!
