Apophyllite commonly occurs in association with zeolite minerals within volcanic rocks, particularly in basalt cavities and hydrothermal veins. The formation of apophyllite crystals is facilitated by the slow cooling of silica-rich fluids in these volcanic environments, allowing the crystals to grow to impressive sizes and clarity.
