A superb spessartine garnet with hyalite opal from Fujian Province, China, featuring sharp, well-formed crystals with an adamantine luster. The garnets display a striking dark red which appears nearly black in some areas until the crystals are illuminated. Adding to its uniqueness, patches of clear, almost bubbly-looking hyalite opal coat some of the garnets, creating an eye-catching contrast. With production from Wu Mountain now strictly regulated, specimens of this quality have become increasingly scarce, making this an even more appealing find.
