A vitreous quartz crystal cluster from Jinkouhe District, Leshan, Sichuan, China, with good clarity and scattered jet-black hydrocarbon inclusions throughout. The dominant crystal reaches 65 mm and displays fine horizontal striations parallel to the c-axis across its prism faces. It is accented at its base by a jackstraw-style cluster of interlocking, elongated quartz crystals, a growth habit for which this locality is well known. An additional thin, tabular crystal, also carrying hydrocarbon inclusions, extends outward from the cluster, adding an interesting secondary form to the piece.
