An exceptional Herkimer Diamond specimen displaying the superb clarity and luster characteristic of the finest quartz crystals from the Herkimer Diamond Mine in Middleville, New York. At nearly 3 grams, this represents a substantial size for material of this quality. Collected in April 2025 by Jenna Thompson from a particularly productive section of what is known as the "Gemmy Layer" within the Little Falls Dolostone formation. This crystal grew suspended within a tight vug between the rough dolostone walls, with the minimal points of contact evident as small indentations on the crystal faces.
