This outstanding small cabinet specimen from the Sweetwater Mine showcases complex scalenohedral calcite crystals extending through and projecting from pieces of matrix. The vitreous crystals are translucent, with several showing double terminations. The matrix displays beautiful crystallization as well, with some sections coated in cream-colored dolomite and others composed of weathered galena. Chalcopyrite is also present, appearing as a light dusting in some areas and as small brassy crystals scattered throughout. The specimen is in excellent condition with no notable damage on the display side and only minor cleaved calcite on the reverse.
