A stunning and complex specimen discovered in Peru, featuring multiple layers of chrysocolla in a range of colors. Hidden below the vibrant crystalline layer of chrysocolla is quartz, nearly fully encased in the blue to green copper oxides. The deep blue chrysocolla displays a waxy sheen, and seems to be a pseudomorph, though I have not yet determined the mineral that has been fully engulfed. Atop the navy blue, sits a contrasting teal-blue chrysocolla in botryoidal form to near fibrous form. The juxtaposition of vibrant colors makes this a particularly impressive piece.
