A beautiful pillar, formed after laumontite, of prehnite with apophyllite and gyrolite crystals. From the Bombay Quarry in India, this pseudomorph is a classic representation of a perimorph. The mineral laumontite formed first, and was subsequently coated in a layer of prehnite crystals. Then, over time, the laumontite crystal dissolved due to environmental changes, leaving behind a hollow pillar of prehnite. Atop the prehnite sit two classic Bombay minerals: white spheres of gyrolite and blocky crystals of apophyllite. An excellent multi-mineral specimen with aesthetic appeal and mineralogical intrigue.
