A stunning specimen of marcasite with beautiful brassy-gold & green coloration, arranged in a spikey cluster of platey crystals. Marcasite, a polymorph of pyrite, is orthorhombic rather than isometric. This difference in structure results in marcasite taking on a more disorganized look, due to its less symmetric crystallization. Though the two minerals share the same formula, their different structures result in uniquely different looks.
