Warm honey-gold calcite crystals line a dolostone matrix from the Sylvania Minerals Quarry, South Rockwood, Monroe Co., Michigan. The calcites show the soft, waxy luster and sharp faces for which the locality is known, ranging from stout scalenohedra to crisp rhombs. Nestled alongside, a cluster of faint blue celestine offers a cool color contrast and a different crystal habit, creating an appealing two-species composition. Fine drusy of calcite along the rim adds extra sparkle without distracting from the main pairing. Choice Michigan combo specimen for collectors!
