Calcite, Galena & Dolomite

A uniquely textured cluster of yellow calcite crystals with soft golden coloration and stepped growth patterns across the surface. The calcite displays a mix of translucent and more opaque areas, with higher clarity along the sharply defined edges. The contrasting matrix of dark gray druzy of galena and dolomite enhances the visual appeal and provides a natural backdrop for the calcite’s warm tone. A sculptural miniature with great contrast and form. The locality of this piece is uncertain, but I suspect it to be from Missouri due to the assemblage of minerals and other pieces from the same collector.
