Austinite, Adamite & Goethite
Austinite, Adamite & Goethite
Gold Hill Mine, Gold Hill, Deep Creek Mountains, Tooele County, Utah, USA
47 x 30 x 28 mm
A lovely specimen from the Gold Hill Mine in Utah featuring glistening white adamite and austinite crystals coating botryoidal goethite. The crystals form a fine sparkling layer over the richly oxidized matrix, which displays vivid red, orange, and yellow tones. The contrast between the brilliant luster of the crystals and the earthy hues of the goethite makes for a striking display. A well-balanced miniature showcasing the diversity of secondary mineral growth in this historic U.S. locality.
Ex. Steve Pullman Collection, collected pre-1975.
