With a dark-red coloration that appears almost black until light shines through them, these flashy spessartine garnets beautifully demonstrate an adamantine luster and dodecahedral shape. A combination specimen out of in Fujian Province in China, the world’s premier locale for smoky quartz with spessartine. A partially intact smoky quartz extends along one side of this piece, with its “scar” revealing orange spessartine which was likely once completely included within the crystal.
