24 x 21 x 11 mm
Impressive group of celestite crystals with parallel growth formations, beautiful terminations, excellent luster. The celestite crystals have an unique tabular shape with glittery calcite crystals. This beautiful mineral is well loved for its beautifully shaped orthorhombic crystals, vitreous luster, and colorless to blue coloration. It forms in sedimentary environments and is often found in association with calcite and fluorite. This lovely specimen comes from Sylvania Aggregates Quarry, a primary supplier of aggregates to the Great Lakes Region. Specimens from this locality are uncommon, due to the limited access allowed to mineral collecting clubs.
