Poudrette Quarry, situated within the Mont Saint-Hilaire pluton roughly 40 km east of Montréal, is a world-renowned site known for its exceptional mineral diversity. To date, more than 400 distinct species among them 71 holotype specimens have been recorded at the site. As public access remains tightly controlled and the majority of extracted material is diverted to industrial crushing, high-quality specimens have grown increasingly scarce.

While Poudrette Quarry is the name most commonly used for the labelling of specimens, the quarry has been called; De-Mix quarry; Demix quarry; Uni-Mix quarry; Carrière Mont Saint-Hilaire; MSH.
